What is a Natural Resource?

A natural resource is pretty much anything that is used to benefit
life that comes from the environment. Some examples of these are ores, wood, fish,
and wind. These are all used in some way
to cure needs or wants. Down below you
can read about the distinction between different natural resources.
Renewable Resource

A renewable resource is a resource that can be renewed faster than consumed. Most renewable resources are some form of power. Examples of these are geothermic, wind and solar energy. Water can be a renewable and non-renewable resource. It is renewable energy wise with hydroelectric turbines but is also non-renewable by running out of fresh water available. We need to look towards renewable resources as a form of energy and mostly replace coal and oil.
Non-renewable Resource

A non-renewable
resource is a resource that can’t be renewed faster than consumed. Most of them are one time use and then they
are gone. Examples of these are coal,
oil, and ores. We need to use these
carefully and efficiently to last a while.
We can use a lot of renewable resources to replace these but it is just inefficient
compared to oil and coal.
Minerals

A mineral is a naturally occurring substance that usually
makes up rocks. They are different than
rocks though by rocks consisting of one or more minerals or none at all. A good thing to remember is minerals make up
rocks not that they are the same thing.
Minerals are very important to today’s technology. They make up many machines and are in many
products. Minerals may also be used as
fashion such as diamonds.
